A few Words from Glenn’s Email About Signs

The following are a few words from Glenn Stanko’s recent email regarding signs for out protests.

While no one is suggesting that you can’t bring signs with negative messages, positive messages are encouraged as much as possible. Sure, many of us want to use “F**k” in referring to Trump and his administration. But . . . , please remember that we are on a public street and that cars driving by have young children in them. Also, our group has parents and grandparents who want to bring their children or grandchildren with them. The parents and grandparents don’t necessarily want to have to explain the presence of “F**k” on signs to their children and grandchildren while attending our protest.

Here’s a list of positive messages that Chris and his wife, Joanne, came up with:

Invest in People, Not War
Peace is Cheaper Than War
Power to the Peaceful
A Better World is Possible
Love, Not Hate, Makes America Great
Protest is Patriotic
Why is There No Maximum Wage?
People over Profit
Your Actions Matter
Diversity is Our Strength
Stronger Together
Use Your Super Power – Vote

Of course, a sign using the event title “Workers Over Billionaires” would be a good one. And perhaps it’s time to bring back “Make Love, Not War” again. “We Want Humane Immigration Policies” or “Warehouses are for Goods, Not Immigrants” are a couple of other possibilities.
